Clear the short fruits first — fig, kiwi, lime, pear, plum, and date are three or four letters and hide easily among the filler squares.
Several fruits end in similar sounds: apple, grape, melon, mango, and lemon share vowels, so trace each letter run fully before selecting.
Papaya and cherry are the longest words and repeat letters (the double 'a' in papaya, the double 'r' in cherry) — use those repeats as anchors and check diagonals.
